Italian Restaurant takes up ground floor of former bar on Brayford Wharf North, Lincoln

National restaurant chain the Gondola Group, who operate the well known brands Pizza Express, Ask and Zizzi, have just signed up to take a third unit in Lincoln on Brayford Wharf North.

Subject to securing licensing early next week, work is due to start immediately to convert the ground floor of the former So Luxe unit into a restaurant for the Gondola Group, which is to be operated as a Zizzi, meaning that all 3 brands will have outlets in Lincoln.  The Group has over 600 restaurants around the Country.  Local Agents, Banks Long & Co and London Agents, Briant Champion Long acted on behalf of the landlords, the National Grid UK Pension Scheme and King Sturge on behalf of the Gondola Group.

James Butcher, a Partner at Banks Long & Co commented, ‘we are delighted to have concluded the letting to an occupier with the profile and strong reputation of the Gondola Group.  The property has generated plenty of interest from a wide variety of potential occupiers since So Luxe vacated, but the introduction of another of the Gondola brands onto Brayford Wharf North will help to reinforce the pitch as the premier leisure destination in the City.’

Gondola only require the ground floor of the unit so the landlords are creating a self contained first floor with a lobby and access from Brayford Wharf North, extending to about 325 sq m (3,500 sq ft), which will be suitable for either bar or restaurant use.  Local firm Lindum Construction will be carrying out the alteration works on behalf of the landlord, ready to hand over to the Gondola Group to begin their own fit-out works.
