Monopoly King of Lincoln Competition 2009
Lawyers, accountants, property developers, financial advisors and chartered surveyors all gathered together on Wednesday 30th December for the annual Monopoly championships sponsored by Banks Long & Co.
Last years champion Liz Welbourn of Lincolnshire Coop Estates put up a brave rear-guard action but was eliminated in the first round by the Echo’s own representative Sarah Holt.
Unfortunately Sarah came up against some big guns from the property industry in the final including Phil Scrafton of Lichfield Planning, Robin Taylor of Taylor Lindsey, Andrew Long of Travel Sector Property Limited, James Ridings of Tandem Asset Management and the eventual clear winner on the night, Matthew Jones of LN5 Estates.
Speaking afterwards Peter Banks of Banks Long & Co said that the event was believed to have raised about £700 for the Pelican Trust a local charity that provides employment and training opportunities for disabled or disadvantaged people. Tony Martin from the Pelican Trust called in and said he was amazed at how cut-throat the competition was to secure the championship.
